Paperbrain,I agree with you that love is the fulfillment of the law.Love like a coin has two sides:love for God and love for man.The former supersedes the later.That's why Christ said that whosoever loves man more than Him is not fit for His kingdom and the greatest commandment in the law is"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind." How do we love God?Simply by keeping His commandments. Christ affirms that by saying"If you love me keep my commandments"(John14:15).That entails keeping all God's commandments,4th commandment inclusive, because "for whosoever shall keep the law and yet offend in one point,he is guilty of all."(James 2:10) Never think that any of God's laws had been changed for "the grass withereth ,the flower fadeth:but the word of our God shall stand forever"(Isaiah 40:8).In the same vein Christ says "Think not that I am come to destroy the law,or the prophets:I am not come to destroy,but to fufill.For verily I say unto you,Till heaven and earth shall pass away,one jot or one little shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fufilled."All will be fufilled when the new heaven and earth come to place and sins finally eradicated.
Satan had attacked the fabric of our existence as a church. Having been "wrought with the woman",Satan the dragon "went to make war with the remnant of her seed,which keep the commandments of God,and have the faith of Jesus."(Rev.12:14)Satan is now using the same subtle means he used to deceive Eve;it doesnt matter if you eat the fruit.It latter mattered.Many say it doesn't matter which day you keep holy thereby subtly denying God as the Creator.Some(even among those who called themselves adventists;wolves in sheep's clothing) have gone further to discredit the Genesis's six-days literal accont of creation calling it allegory.We are indeed in the end of time.The Church must guard against heresy in all forms.It is heartening to note that the new president of the church Ted Wilson like his predecessor, Jan Paulsen,vehemently defends the Genesis's literal account of creation.His recent speech in support of that warms the heart.May God save His Church and draw souls to Himself.
