Our engagement announcement--we met through Shining Star!!
Hello Friends!
I am very happy to anounce my engagement to Mr. Kevin Jay North of Brighton,
Michigan. He proposed last Saturday, November 18, 2000. We are both
praising the Lord for the blessing He has given us, and we ask you our
friends to praise with us. God’s hand has been working to bring us together
from the beginning.
In the summer of 1999, I worked for a short time for Olan Mills Church
Directories. One of the churches that I worked in was Cornerstone
Presbyterian, Kevin’s Church!! He was most likely at work just a half mile
away from me, but we didn’t meet. God had a plan for us and not quite a
year later on May 19, 2000, He allowed us to meet.
Kevin found my profile on a Christian Singles Website called Shining Star
Singles. He emailed me and we began to correspond though neither of us
really thought it would go anywhere. The more we emailed the more we found
in common. A few weeks later he called me and we talked for the first time.
Then we met for our first date. We went to Binder Park Zoo.
Kevin is a Christian and he is living for Jesus. I have been blessed far
beyond what I could have ever imagined. He is manager of sofware
development for Shaffi, Inc., an industrial robotics company. He has a
masters degree from Michigan Tech. He is so smart & handsome & loving &
kind & considerate & ... Am I rambling on and on? I just can’t help it. I
love him!
God’s timing is perfect and He brought us together at just the right time.
We have both been diligently seeking God’s guidance on the timing of our
relationship. It may seem like a short time to many but after six months,
we knew that God’s plan for us was to be married. God is so awesome! We
are planning a May 26, 2001 wedding in Coldwater, Michigan. We are both
very happy and want to thank all of you for sharing in our joy.
