Many times in life when we are praying for others the Lord answers prayer for the needs of the one who is praying.
I am learning after all these years the importance of praying through, (Praying until that need is met either in my own life or the life of someone else.) So many times we pray and then forget to continue to pray for the answer to that request.
I praise the Lord that He answered a prayer for your own needs. He answered you friend's prayer, in the way that He wanted it answered, "God's ways and not our ways."
I remember when my brother Irving was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, my pastor came to see him as Irving wanted him to anoint him. "Pastor Jack told Irving that God would heal him, but in His own way not ours. About 4 weeks later I attended my precious brother's funeral." Yes, God healed him, but in His way. Now my brother sleeps, until the resurrection of the dead in Christ. He is healed, because he sleeps with those who will be raised on that day, to a new life in Christ."
My brother was able to sing with us around his bed almost to the end. The last time I saw him would have been our mother's birthday and we all sang around his bed. The after midnight he became comatos and after midnight of the next day at 1:00 a.m. he went to sleep. I praise the Lord for the Faith of this Brother and for the love that he shared with me in our singing together those last weeks.
Yes, God answers prayers. We don't always like God's answers, but He is just and true.
I will pray for your friends wife and family and also for you as you go for more surgery. God bless you.

Three weeks ago I asked if someone would kindly pray for my friend ( we have been friends for 42 years) who had been told he had only weeks/months to live.
He has now passed away after only three weeks, we are all totally devastated.There will be a big funeral next week as he has just left the RAF. Please pray for his wife and family and all of us, his friends. It will be so difficult.
I have found it especially difficult as I had to go into hospital for surgery (suspected bowel cancer) and he knew about this. He wanted to know how I got on. Well all my friends had been praying for me, as we had been praying for my friend. When the surgeons operated on me the growths had disappeared, some miracle eh? I was elated and esxcited but then thought how on earth amy I going to tell my friend. In the end I told him that I had had a miracle and we were praying that he would receive the same. That was Sunday afternoon, he died later that day.
He had such a sense of humour and had asked his wife to comb his hair when she asked why he replied that he didn't want the undertakers to come and find him untidy.
May I ask for prayer for his dear wife, she is such a lovely lady and their two boys, well they are married with children and all of us who will be at the funeral. We need some strength so we can be strong for Ann. Also that I will be well enough to make the two hour drive as I am going into hospital on the 8th Dec, for more surgery.

Please can I ask for prayer for my very dear friends. We have just learnt that he has only weeks to live having been told this week he has liver cancer. Please pray for strength for him and his wife and also their two sons(grown up). Also that Dave will be well enough to take Ann on a holiday to the sun like he wishes to. My church and I are praying for a miracle as they do happen, I had one in my own family, but if it is not God's will then please pray that he doesn't suffer. Thank you so much.
