I find your comments very encouraging. Thanks for sharing your experience. I, too, have been asking 'why?' Your comments, though, have given me a new perspective on the gift of life & how my response to this gift could either please or displease God.
Do help me pray for my family members who are not christians and are, therefore, having a more difficult time with the healing process.

In august 2005 I lost an aunt, grandmother and my husband. Looking back I know it is the strength of God that got me through that time. Having battled cancer myself 3 years before this, I remember asking God why I was left on this earth, and yet the 3 people I loved were taken home to be with Him. I never did hear a response to that question but I did hear God's voice in it all one day. He told me that telling me why wouldn't help because I would not be able to understand it this side of heaven. However the fact that I was still here was a gift He was giving me. So everyday that I am able to open my eyes in the morning I say thank you to God for this gift. I realize now that everyday i don't make the most of this gift is like slapping God in the face for gift of life He has given me. I now try to make the most of everyday given me. Does this mean I didn't grieve the loss my loved ones? I most definitely did and still do....but I do not allow it to stop me from accomplishing God's purpose in my life while I am given the gift of life. May you be able to find God's joy strength that surpasses any circumstance life throws at you.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. The pain of the loss is great but the prayers, kind wishes and profound thoughts do make a significant difference! Thanks to all those who have prayed and will be praying. May God richly bless you all in all your endeavours.
I will be definitely be doing the tribute. I think it is an excellent idea.

I am so sorry for your loss, Tiara. Losing parents is the worst then would come a sibling or child. You are right, grieve, my sister. Tears wash away pain. It is a loss & should be grieved.
Perhaps a tribute would be in order for your brother. You can do that also. It will bring you much relief.
May GOD'S peace be with you, Tiara during this season of loss. You are blessed anyway.

Your idea of writing a tribute sounds like a good idea. Thanks for sharing it.
I am currently mourning the death of my brother who died tragically approximately one week ago. One of my friends expressed surprise that as a christian I should be grieving so. I know in my heart, however, that I need to vent in order to stay alive. My entire family is mourning as the circumstances surrounding my brother's passing were so tragic. I think grieving is a process and to bypass any stage of the process is to rob ourselves of the chance to heal. The christian is allowed to grieve as long as we don't go to extremes and behave like those without hope.
By the way, for me grieving entails allowing the tears to flow if they have to. Christians are allowed to cry. 'Tears are a language God understands'.
